My name is Shelley Gonzales. I am a passionate right-wing conservative with a strong interest in politics and public policy matters. I am working towards a Master’s degree in Economics and want to use my economics training to give sensible insight and solutions to the many issues our government is facing in today’s world. I intend to use this blog forum to share my opinions and explain why I believe what I believe. I also hope to win over some of those from the “other side.”
Why is it that our nation has triumphantly surpassed every other in both social and economic issues in such a short period of time? Why do our elected officials want nothing more than to throw away this successful system and replace it with a system that has been proven over the centuries to kill economic growth?
Hi Shelley, I’m very glad to be made aware of your blog. I will bookmark it and view it often and hopefully witness your success is providing some knowledge to those that do not have any regarding the forth coming administration.
Thank you so much for your encouragement. My goal is to post a new blog once or twice each week. I look forward to reading your input in the future. It is in times like these that those who value the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution need to speak up!
Hope the JLF is treating you well… Can’t wait to meet for lunch! Pat says, “Hi.”
Having a great time w/ JLF! I will have to tell you about it over lunch. Tell Pat I said hello as well!
Hi Shelly,
I have been increaseingly disappointed in the large number of American people willing to give up their freedoms and become subjects rather than citizens. I wonder just how far down the road to socialism that Obama will take us before they finally awaken and realize that he is only interested in his own political future and increasing the size and power of the government. I am wondering just when this apathy will end and realization will take place and common sense will again rule this great nation.
I completely understand what you are saying Bearcreekbob. People almost seem eager and want to give up their freedoms as fast as possible. This mindset seems much more prevelant in the younger generation. Our government run schools don’t seem to be teaching the best parts of our history. For example, why did we fight for independence from England in the first place? What or who were we running away from? How did our founding fathers come to draft the constitution as we know it and why did they implement the brilliant system of checks and balances? These young people are not taught how expensive their freedoms are and were to the generations before us. Instead, they are taught how great the healthcare is in Cuba (I have actually heard this argument from a graduate of a top tier American university). In order for Obama to get the socialist society that he wants, he has to cheapen and destroy the constitution. My fear is that he will succeed and our country will pass the point of no return. But we’re NOT there yet and I pray we will never be.
Hi Shelley,
I spoke with your dad yesterday and he told me about your recent move into a pretty political position. Congratulations and I wish you the very best. BTW, your dad is very proud of you, if you didn’t already know it.
Thank you so much! I am very excited about all of the possibilities that lie ahead. There is definitely a lot of future potential in what I am doing. I fell upon this opportunity somewhat by accident and am so happy I did (and so glad they were hiring). : )
As for my dad, he is just the sweetest man alive. It means the world to me that he is proud of me. And I am still so amazed that you found my blog and then my dad told me who you were! How unlikely! And as for the blog, I know I haven’t been posting much lately, but I promise, I’ll be back soon!! I’ve been in summer school and working full time too! Crazy!
